Frustration is not a strong enough word for all of us.
Frustrated with manufacturing. Information I was given was not 'accurate' to say the least. I am sorry for not updating, but I haven't had anything to update you with other than the difficulties I have been experiencing in getting a straight answer from my manufacturer.
As one backer said to me...'It can also be assumed that the factory is keeping record of what they have produced and shipped. Surely they can provide this info if requested.' I would think it were that simple as well.... but it isn't. Or at least it hasn't been in my case.
Three weeks ago I was told the next 500 had shipped and I informed all of my backers and we were all happy.
I waited for delivery. Surely it would be here within 5-7 days and then customs. No problem.
After 6 days I emailed my contact about shipping. There is a 15 hour time difference so it can take two days to get an answer. Sometimes if it is bad news they don't answer. I have been told this can be 'normal.' Great.
'I am on a business trip in Paris and will be back Monday.' Thirteen days.
Actually it was Tuesday, 14 days...'there was a problem with left side-shield we had to repair.'
'How could there be a problem if you have already shipped?'
'We didn't ship.'
'You said you shipped.'
'No, we said we would ship. But now we have to fix side shields.'
'When will they be ready to ship?'
'Monday.'
Skype meeting just now.
'Did you ship Yesterday?' It is Monday here and Tuesday there.
'Yes'
'Great, all 500?'
'No.'
'How many?'
'We are fixing Polarization.'
'But you shipped.'
'No'
'YOU JUST SAID YOU SHIPPED.'
'No we are going to ship. We are fixing polarization.'
'What are you shipping today? '
'250'
'That's not 500'
'250 today 250 next week.'
This is why I held off on updates.
I didn't share what was going on as it was all in flux and I was trying to get the problem solved. This is a gray area for me and wasn't sure what to update with. As you know I will give bad news, but in this case I was at a loss with how to update.
If you feel I should have updated earlier I apologize, maybe I should have.
Trust me, if manufacturing and supply chain were on original schedule I would have a thriving business by now with no worries. So I understand the frustration. I'm working this and my other job when I should be just doing this.
They are shipping today. I received this.
Doing everything I can to fulfill as fast as I can.
Will share DHL slip when I get it... in the morning I hope.
